When renovating the Old Shed, we knew she needed new doors… but we just couldn’t let go of her rickety old-school hardwood doors. We set them aside and waited for a good use.
Then it came to us, signage! When designing how we wanted our signage to look (timber, authentic, a bit rustic and representing what we do at the Old Shed) we had the perfect material ready to recycle! We instantly got in contact with the best in the biz @stroud_de_signs to make our vision come to life.
Once stripped back, door knobs, locks and hinges removed, the doors looked even more stunning. We sent them off in the safe hands of Kate and they came back even more beautiful than we had hoped. Hand painted no less.
The background is our signature colour, originally chosen to work with the bright pink of the huge bougainvillea at our entrance. Luckily the colour also compliments the yellow and greens of our sunflowers currently in bloom along the front fence.
So next time you’re at the Old Shed, have a close look at the signs… you’ll see those old hinge and lock marks and the traditional hardwood door construction. You’ll also know they’re history with the site, and why we didn’t just paint them black.
